Motorhome rental in Brussels: the guide

Renting a motorhome in Brussels: campervans at €90–150 per day, the LEZ to know about, and three itineraries — the Ardennes, the Belgian coast, the Flemish cities.

At the centre of the Benelux, Brussels is a formidably practical starting base: the Ardennes 90 minutes away, the Belgian coast 75 minutes, Bruges an hour, and France, the Netherlands and Germany all within a tank of fuel. Here is the how-to.

Pickup: the ring road, and the LEZ

As in every capital, vehicles are collected on the outskirts, near the ring. Worth knowing: Brussels applies a low-emission zone (LEZ) across the whole region — recent diesel motorhomes (Euro 5/6) pass without issue, but check the engine rating on the listing if the vehicle is over ten years old. Goboony, very strong in the Benelux, and Yescapa carry most of the private supply; Roadsurfer and Indie Campers add pro fleets. Expect €90–150 per day for a campervan, €110–180 for a semi-integrated.

Where to sleep: Wallonia plays along

Belgium has a good network of motorhome stopovers, particularly in Wallonia where many municipalities offer overnight parking with water and power for €0–15. On the coast, campsites are near-mandatory in summer. Our guide to motorhome stopovers explains how to find and use them.

The smart play: start in Brussels and radiate

With distances this short, a compact van is plenty — and Belgium has no motorway vignette for light vehicles, unlike Switzerland or Austria. Add rental prices often gentler than Amsterdam or Paris, and Brussels becomes an excellent hub for the whole of north-west Europe.
