VAN-COMPARATOR Guide
Yescapa, Goboony, Roadsurfer, Indie Campers… which platform should you choose?
Strengths, weaknesses, fees and coverage of the major campervan rental platforms — and why the right answer changes with every search.
There is no "best" platform in absolute terms: there's the one that has the right vehicle, in the right city, on the right date, at the best total price. That's different for every search — which is exactly why a comparator exists. Here's what sets them apart nonetheless.
Yescapa
Europe's peer-to-peer leader: very deep inventory in France and Spain, from mini-campers to A-class motorhomes, with insurance and roadside assistance included on rentals. The vehicles have personality — and an owner who briefs you better than any rental counter. Renter-side service fees are itemized clearly before payment.
Goboony
The other big peer-to-peer player, dominant in the Netherlands, Belgium and the UK. A very family-friendly catalog, owners who are flexible on mileage and pets; the fee breakdown appears clearly at booking.
Roadsurfer
The professional-fleet specialist: recent campervans and converted vans (VW California, Mercedes Marco Polo…), stations across Europe and the United States, mileage often unlimited and a standardized handover. Ideal for a first, surprise-free rental.
Indie Campers
A professional fleet born in Portugal, very strong across Iberia and expanding throughout Europe and the US. Its trump card: one-way rentals between stations — handy for a Lisbon → Porto or a Milan → Munich without backtracking.
Outdoorsy, RVshare, McRent and Cruise America
The two American P2P giants, Europe's professional rental network and the institution of the North American RV will join the Van-Comparator lineup as partner agreements land.
The Van-Comparator method
One search queries every platform in parallel, shows each offer's real price (flagged "to be confirmed" when a platform only publishes a "from" price), and lets you book directly with the platform, under its guarantees. On identical searches we regularly measure 10 to 25% between the cheapest and the priciest platform for an equivalent vehicle. We take no commission from travelers.
