What to check, depending on your plans

Renting from a company: the contract states the included insurance, the excess, the mileage and the equipment. Check the vehicle weight your driving licence allows.
Buying from a dealer: ask for the warranty terms in writing and, for a converted van, check that its registration describes it as a motorhome.
Conversion: ask the converter whether the work will be approved for registration as a motorhome where you live.
Insurance: compare cover (theft, glass, interior fittings, breakdown) and, if you rent your vehicle out, check who covers the rental period.
