From Tromsø, the Kvaløya road reaches the white beaches of Sommarøy in barely an hour, the E8 then the E6 open the way to the Lyngen Alps, ferry included, in around two hours, and the Senja national tourist route is three hours out. The most ambitious push on towards the North Cape, a long day’s drive away.
