Motorhome routes out of Stockholm
From Stockholm, road 222 runs out to Värmdö and the archipelago jetties, the E4 heads north to Uppsala in forty-five minutes before continuing, much further on, towards the High Coast on the Gulf of Bothnia, and the E18 follows lake Mälaren west towards Västerås. Southwards, road 73 drops to Nynäshamn, gateway to the Gotland ferry.
Where to go by motorhome around Stockholm
Uppsala with its cathedral, Sigtuna, Sweden’s oldest town, and Mariefred with Gripsholm castle on the shore of Mälaren can each be reached in about an hour. Vaxholm offers a first taste of the archipelago at under an hour’s drive, while the little coastal town of Trosa, to the south, rounds off the classic Svealand circuit.

Stockholm (Svealand, Suède) — Allemansrätten (the right to roam) is an institution — but it does not extend as-is to vehicles: park overnight where it is allowed. Short season, June–August, with near-endless days up north.
