Yescapa or Goboony: The 2026 Head-to-Head
Two peer-to-peer rental platforms, one group since 2023: coverage, fees, insurance and typical profiles — our neutral comparison to help you choose.
Yescapa and Goboony dominate peer-to-peer motorhome rental in Europe. Little-known fact: the two companies merged into a single group in 2023, while keeping separate brands, sites and catalogues. Does choosing still matter? Yes — and here are the criteria, seen from our vantage point as an independent comparison engine.
Coverage: South versus North
Geography remains the first differentiator. Yescapa, born in Bordeaux in 2012, is densest in France, Spain, Portugal and Italy. Goboony, born in the Netherlands in 2015, rules the Benelux and the United Kingdom. In overlap zones — France and Germany in particular — the catalogues differ listing by listing: the perfect van for your dates may exist on one side only.
Fees, insurance, deposit: the same model
Mechanically, the two platforms are close siblings: insurance and assistance included during the rental through their partners, service fees added at payment, deposit set listing by listing (commonly €1,000 to €2,500), mileage often capped with a daily allowance. In both cases the only honest comparison is the final price, fees included — our guides to deposits and insurance and rental prices set the benchmarks.
Experience: equivalent, with one nuance
Owner messaging, app-based handover inspection, verified reviews: the journeys are very similar. One nuance from our comparisons: pet-friendly owners are especially numerous on Goboony — a real plus for travellers with dogs (see our pets on board guide).
How to decide
Choose by local density: departing from southern Europe, start with Yescapa; from the Benelux or the UK, start with Goboony; elsewhere the two are level and everything comes down to the listing. Simplest of all is not to pre-choose: Van-Comparator queries both platforms — plus Roadsurfer and Indie Campers — in a single search and shows each offer’s true total price. On the same van type and dates, the gap regularly runs to tens of euros per day: better to see them side by side before you pay.
