From Prague, the D8 runs north to the sandstone of Bohemian Switzerland in ninety minutes, the D5 reaches Plzeň then Bavaria, and the D1 opens the road to Brno and Moravia. Allow an hour and a quarter for the sandstone towers of Bohemian Paradise (Český ráj), ninety minutes for the Pravčická arch in Bohemian Switzerland, and scarcely more for the spa town of Karlovy Vary.
