Motorhome routes out of Prague
From Prague, the D8 runs north to the sandstone of Bohemian Switzerland in ninety minutes, the D5 reaches Plzeň then Bavaria, and the D1 opens the road to Brno and Moravia. Southwards, the Vltava valley leads in two and a half hours to Český Krumlov, one of central Europe’s most beautiful baroque towns.

Karlštejn castle, Charles IV’s gothic jewel, is forty minutes away; Kutná Hora and its bone church one hour. Allow an hour and a quarter for the sandstone towers of Bohemian Paradise (Český ráj), ninety minutes for the Pravčická arch in Bohemian Switzerland, and scarcely more for the spa town of Karlovy Vary.
